Abstract: |
An anticanonical cylinder on a del Pezzo surface S is the complement of the support of an effective Q-divisor D such that is Q-linearly equivalent to -K_S and S-Supp(D) is isomorphic to A^1 x Z for some affine variety Z. In this talk, it will be shown that a smooth del Pezzo surface of low degree (especially, a smooth cubic surface) cannot have any anticanonical cylinder. This implies that the affine cone over a smooth cubic surface cannot admit a non-trivial G_a-action. |
