Abstract: |
The work of Festuccia and Seiberg gives an easy to implement recipe to construct supersymmetric gauge theories on curved manifolds. Often such theories are amenable to the application of localisation methods following Pestun when calculating supersymmetric observables. I will discuss aspects of both the construction of the theories and the localisation procedure for four- and five-dimensional examples. In detail, I will discuss the calculation of the partition function for 4D theories on toric Kahler manifolds focussing on CP(2) and following the work of Klare and Zaffaroni. This will provide a background in which to consider the 5D theories on Sasakian manifolds considered by Kallen, Qiu, and Zabzine. Motivated by this I will conclude with some remarks about the general properties of such theories on five dimensions. |
