Abstract: I will introduce a new set of large N-body simulations that combine very large cosmological volumes and up to ~ 8.5 billion particles to sample ~ 5 decades in halo mass and spatial resolution. I will discuss their use to calibrate several cosmological probes that will be implemented in upcoming astronomical surveys. In particular I will refer to novel results regarding the abundance of the most massive but rarest halos in such large volume, including systematics effects and error estimators. In addition we will look at the large scale clustering and the baryon acoustic oscillations probe
