| Abstract: | Though quark confinement is a central problem in modern physics, its proof is still not in our sight. We discuss recent theories developed to prove quark confinement in lattice gauge theory. We also discuss, through the author's recent analysis of 2D sigma model, what makes this problem so difficult and what is the possible approach to this problem. |
