| Abstract: | In rational conformal field theories the characters of modules span representation of the modular group. The Verlinde formula then computes fusion products of modules from the modular transformation properties of the characters. Generalising the Verlinde Formula beyond rationality in particular to logarithmic conformal field theory has proven rather difficult for a number of reasons. In this talk I will explain the kinds of difficulties that arise as well as present a recent proposal for such a generalisation. |
