I will present the results of a study that explores how galaxy gas content can be influenced by environment on multiple scales, from groups to large-scale structure. I will first describe the new atomic gas census for the RESOLVE survey, a volume limited survey of 〜1500 galaxies in the local universe probing baryonic masses down to 10^9 Msun. This data is combined with metrics that parameterize environment in terms of group dark matter halo mass, large-scale structure geometry, and large-scale structure density. I will show evidence for gas depletion of satellites in relatively low-mass dark matter halos. I will then present systematic variations in the mean gas content of galaxies in different regions of large-scale structure, independent of dark matter halo mass. I will conclude by discussing what physical processes might drive the observed trends. |
