Since its discovery, the Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation (CMBR) fascinated us with rich science it contains. Teams from around the world have made increasingly sensitive measurements using telescopes on the ground, balloons and satellites. With great successes over the past two decades, we are in a era of precision cosmology. CMBR spectrum's agreement to black body spectrum confirmed the hot big bang model of the universe, and detailed measurements of its small $10^{-5}$ non-uniformity have led to tight constraints on the composition, geometry, and evolution of the universe. To further excavate science from the CMBR, such as model of cosmic inflation, scientists started tapping into information encoded in polarization states of the CMBR. In this seminar, I'll discuss exciting science that we can explore with CMB polarization, and how progresses of instrumentation enabled such endeavor. I will also discuss how we are advancing technologies to prepare for next generation CMB experiments. |
