The wealth of data collected by the Hitomi satellite in only a few days of observation have lead to 8 publications from the Perseus Cluster data set alone. The science topics in these works range from studying the dynamics and microphysics of the intra-cluster medium, to supernova nucleosynthesis, physics of the central supermassive black hole, a search for dark matter candidates, and even aspects of atomic physics. I will briefly review the most exciting results from these observations, and most promising prospects for future high-resolution spectroscopy missions. |
