List of topics: prime numbers (definition, infinitude, the growth function \pi(x)), Riemann's zeta function \zeta(s) (definition, functional equation, Riemann hypothesis, the values at integers), Diophantine equations (Pell's equations, Fermat's last theorem). I will not go into the proofs or details. Little or no math background is assumed. The aim is to put up some "beautiful" formulas on the blackboard and take time to appreciate them. |
