Abstract: |
Compared to the compact case, there are difficulties in studying Morse theory of non-compact manifolds. For example, gradient flow lines may escape to infinity, so we cannot count them properly to define the differential. To bypass this kind of issues, we introduce a different version of Morse theory based on the notion of homotopy coherent diagrams. |
