I shall discuss two scenarios for the production of dark matter (DM) density in the early Universe, and a possible particle-antiparticle asymmetry in the DM sector, from scattering processes. In the first scenario, we show that a general semi-annihilation process by itself can lead to a near maximal asymmetry. In the second scenario, taking the example of a complex scalar singlet DM, we show an interesting interplay of DM self-scatterings and annihilations in determining its density and composition, the role of DM self-scatterings in this context being a novel phenomenon. |
