The Large Hadron Collider is the highest energy particle collider ever constructed, with the ambitious goal of uncovering new physics beyond the standard model and answering fundamental questions about the universe. It has already proved itself a discovery machine, seeing the Higgs boson within two years of being turned on, and measuring new phenomena in quantum chromodynamics. These measurements shed important light on the birth of (and our place in) the universe. While the LHC has been running for 10 years to date, it has collected only 5% of its overall data set. The next phase of its operation will gather data that will provide unprecedented precision for further constraining, or detecting, new physics beyond the standard model. I will discuss the development of theoretical frameworks that will enable the full exploitation of this upcoming data, and that also provide a new perspective that reinterprets LHC data through the lens of harmonic analysis, making it ’sing’ for the first time. |
