Abstract: |
We may be on the verge of indirect detection of a stochastic background of gravitational waves using polarization measurements of the cosmic microwave background. I will describe the implications of this for a possible probe of Inflation in the early universe and then I will describe how other processes in the early universe can mimic this signal and how we may require direct probes of gravitational waves before we can resolve the source of any such primordial wave background. |
