Abstract: |
A number of gauge theory correspondences discovered in the past decade have enabled the development of new methods in the study of supersymmetric quantum field theories, each coming with relative advantages. I will focus on two instances of such correspondences from the perspective of connections to my recent research. In particular the AGT correspondence between four dimensional theories of the so-called Class S and associated two dimensional conformal field theories has enabled progress through CFT methods and connections to integrable models, while the 3d-3d correspondence between three dimensional SQFTs and 3d Chern-Simons theory has allowed, among others, the prediction of exact gauge theory results from number theory. With the aim to paint a broad picture, I will highlight a few examples where such methods have been successful and discuss connections among them. |
