Abstract: |
Compact stars are ideal objects to explore new physics due to their extreme conditions impossible to reach in earth-based experiments. The scattering of dark matter from stellar constituents leads to gravitational capture, with important observational consequences. In particular, white dwarf /Neutron star heating occurs due to the energy transfer in the capture and annihilation processes of captured dark matter. Here I discuss the capture rate mechanism and how we could set bounds on dark matter interactions. |
