Abstract: |
Protoclusters (PCs), the progenitors of galaxy clusters, are essential regions for understanding galaxy evolution, where galaxy formation is progressing rapidly. Active star formation in PC results in the formation of abundant metals and rapid chemical evolution. In this seminar, I will present the results of our recent studies of the PCs' star formation history and chemical evolution using cosmological zoom-in hydrodynamic simulations. Our PCs reproduce the observed PCs with a high SFR, and the chemical enrichment in galaxy clusters proceeds faster in the high redshift Universe (𝑧 > 1). We show that the [O/Fe] vs. [Fe/H] relation turns down in the Core at 𝑧 = 3.4 due to the enrichment of Fe by Type Ia supernovae. We find no environmental effects for the mass–metallicity relations or log(N/O) vs. 12 + log(O/H) for galaxies in PCs. We will discuss the origin of the large scatter for galaxies' chemical abundance. |
