| Abstract: | Observations with the Fermi-LAT have impressively confirmed that the majority of celestial gamma-rays are of diffuse origin. Diffuse Galactic gamma-ray emission measured at GeVs is being studied in elaborate models for Cosmic Ray transport, and a variety of surprising aspects have been revealed. However, at TeV energies both wide field gamma-ray detectors as well as Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes (IACTs) are challenged with establishing the diffuse Galactic gamma-ray emission, and accordingly their scientific exploration remains still limited. I shall discuss such observation and analysis limits, developments to overcome at least some, and give prospects by example what scientific chances might emerge from sensitive measurements at TeV energies. |
