Abstract: |
Yang-Mills scattering amplitudes can be written such that the kinematic information (i.e. momenta and polarization vectors) satisfy the same algebraic relations as the SU(N) color factors. This surprising property is called the color-kinematics duality, which still remains to be fully understood. Remarkably, it allows the construction of graviton amplitudes through a simple procedure, which is called the double copy. After introducing the color-kinematics duality, I will explain how it can be generalized in effective field theory. I will also show, using the duality, that the first higher-derivative corrections to Yang-Mills amplitudes are all encoded in much simpler "lower-derivative" amplitudes. With the double copy, this efficiently captures corrections to graviton amplitudes. |
