Abstract: |
I will review some recently proposed scenarios for the formation of primordial black holes (the oldest black holes in the universe, which could have preceded formation of stars and galaxies). Simple extensions of the standard model, as well as well-studied models of new physics, including supersymmetry, lead to production of black holes in the early universe. I will discuss the possible role of these black holes as dark matter, and I will review some astrophysical consequences and ongoing search for primordial black holes. |
