| Title: | Orbi-instantons, the double affine Grassmannian, and the 6d a-theorem |

| Abstract: | In this talk I will present two results of independent interest. First, I will briefly introduce the 6d (1,0) SCFTs known as A-type orbi-instantons, and show that the full hierarchy of Higgs branch RG flows between them is given by the Hasse diagram of E8-orbits of the so-called double affine Grassmannian of E8. Secondly, I will leverage the partial order naturally defined on this Hasse diagram to prove the a-theorem for Higgs branch RG flows, thereby exhausting the list of 'c-theorems' in the even-dimensional supersymmetric setting. The talk is based on work to appear with Suvendu Giri and Paul Levy. |
