Local Schur operators in 4d N=2 SCFTs form a protected class of operators giving rise to a 2d vertex operator algebra. I will describe how this correspondence generalizes when we consider extended operators (lines, surfaces, etc.). We showed (2211.04410) how the vertex operator algebra extends in a universal way to a more general algebraic structure and computed explicitly in an example (free hyper theory). Time permitting, I will also discuss how our construction can be interpreted in terms of alternative constructions that have appeared in the literature. |
