| Abstract: | I will summarize some of the most striking examples of how our understanding of quantum field theory has evolved in recent years, illustrating a deep, underlying simplicity which is completely obfuscated by the familiar formalism of Feynman diagrams. I will describe how analyticity combined with the kinematic simplicity of Penrose's twistor variables leads to a powerful, recursive definition of (planar) scattering amplitudes to all orders of perturbation theory. No special familiarity with the subject should be required. |
