This talk will consist of two parts, both dealing with H-deficient supernova explosions. In the first part, I will concentrate on the explosion environments of normal stripped supernovae (SNe Ib/c) and the information that we can derive from those: I will present a comparison of their locations within their host galaxies with those of GRBs and of WR stars, and a spectroscopic study of their birthplaces, including estimates of the local metallicities and the stellar population ages. In the the second part, I will speak about our study of SN 2006oz, a super-luminous event including some intriguing early-time observations. |
