Abstract: |
The last few decades have seen the emergence of the standard cosmological model. This successful model is postulated on the existence of a number of exotic ingredients. Dark matter and dark energy dominate its matter-energy content. Black holes appear to be key ingredients in the evolution of galaxies, starting from their emergence from the cosmic dark ages. Yet, most of what we know about the universe comes from the study of photons, interacting with the dark sector. I will show that using new techniques and new exquisite datasets, we can decode the information transmitted by photons, and start to answer two key questions in the dark sector of modern cosmology: When and how did the first black holes form? What is the equation of state of dark energy? |
