Abstract: | After 48 years of desperate searches, the most wanted elementary particle, the Higgs boson, or something that wickedly looks like it, has finally been caught by the ATLAS and CMS experiments. I shall review what are the implications of this discovery for physics beyond the standard model and cosmology and I shall sketch what we hope to learn from dedicated Higgs precision measurements at the LHC and possibly at a future linear collider. |
