Abstract: |
Significant experimental efforts attempt to directly detect Dark Matter particles through scattering in specialized detectors. I will review the basics of this Direct Search for Dark Matter and present an overview about the different detection technologies. The status and prospects of the main experiments will be discussed. As will become clear from an outlook on the coming years, these direct detection experiments promise to cover the expected parameter space of the leading Dark Matter candidate particles simply by scaling up existing technology. |
