Abstract: |
The observation of a gamma-ray line at the Galactic center would be a 'smoking gun' signature for annihilation of WIMP dark matter particles in the Universe. At energies around 130 GeV, we find first indications for such a line feature in the public data taken by the Fermi Large Area Telescope since 2008 when we try to get the constraint on VIB photons. If interpreted in terms of dark matter particles annihilating into a photon pair, the observations require a very large partial annihilation cross-section of about 10-27 cm3 s-1. Then we try to make a comprehensive test of the dark matter scenario of the line emission, through analyzing the Fermi-LAT gamma ray data in the Galactic center, the Milky Way halo, dwarf galaxies and galaxy clusters. Finally we also chech the consistence of the tentative signal from unassociated Fermi-LAT sources with the result from N-body simulation Aquarius. |
