Abstract: |
The goal in this lecture is to give an overview of K. Saito's theory of primitive forms. In the first part of the lecture I will give the definition of a primitive form and explain why it gives naturally a Frobenius manifold structure. In the second part of the lecture I would like to outline a construction of a primitive form based on Hodge theory and Birkhoff factorization. I will try to make my lecture accessible to physicists as well, but some basic knowledge of complex analytic or algebraic geometry, such as the notion of a coherent sheaf and Cech cohomology of a sheaf is desirable. |
