I am a high-energy astrophysicist and proud global citizen. After a 13-year-long around-the-world tour during which I continuously explored the Universe while moving from Germany to California and Japan, I am now back in Europe at the Netherlands Institute for Space Research, but looking forward to keep up my international connections by visiting the IPMU regularly. My main scientific interests include measuring and understanding the chemical composition of the universe's large scale structure, the physics of the hot plasma in clusters of galaxies, and the effect on supermassive black holes on both of these topics.
