My main research area is string phenomenology. I am interested in string theory and quantum gravity both for its own sake but especially also in hopes of making connections, and ideally predictions, for physics at cosmological and particle-physics scales. Questions that I am interested in:

-String compactifications: Can we compactify string theory down to 4D spacetime dimensions with positive dark energy in a well-controlled way? What predictions do the extra compact dimensions make for the particle spectrum?

-The swampland program: Can we place useful constraints on low-energy effective theories by demanding that is possible to UV-complete them into a consistent theory of quantum gravity? Do any of the resulting constraints lead to interesting predictions for observations in the short- or medium-terms future?

-(Holographic) quantum cosmology: Can we compute the wavefunction of the universe in a meaningful way? Can a cosmological analogue of holography help us with this? Can the wavefunction be interpreted to teach us something about e.g. the probility of different universes being created; or about cosmological correlators?
