Fabien Medvecky is an Associate Professor in Science Communication at the Centre for the Public Awareness of Science at the Australian National University. His research focuses on how values shape, inform and feed into social discussions and decision making. Coming from a background in philosophy and economics, he usually takes a philosophical lens to his research. His main areas of focus are the ethics of science communication and notions of justice in making knowledge public, as well as the place of economics in discourse on science, technology and Innovation. He has also worked extensively on contentious or controversial science and technologies, predominantly in the environmental space.
