I have been working on the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) experiments to reveal the beginning of the Universe, especially velify the Cosmic Inflation theory. The anisotropy of the CMB polarization has rich information about how the Universe began and how it has evolved. Since the anisotropy signal is very small, high sensitive instruments are needed, and their properties must be well understood. I have mainly worked on calibration of CMB telescopes, including as pointing, beam, etc... I had also worked on development of a superconducting detector, specifically Kinetic Inductance Detectors(KIDs).
My current interest is to understand the foregound signal and gravitational lensing effect in our observed maps. Since these effects are degenerate with the CMB anisotropy signal, we need to develop methods to separate them from the CMB signal. This requires various observational data, such as multi-frequency (mm wavelength) observations and gravitational lensing measurements. I would like to start collaborations with various researchers at the Kavli IPMU to achive more precise measurement of the CMB polarization.
