I study the hydrodynamics and nucleosynthesis of supernova explosions, including both Type Ia and core-collapse supernovae, by doing multi-dimensional hydrodynamics simulations and post-processing with a large nuclear reaction network. The numerical results are applied to understand the following areas:1. constraining supernova explosion physics,
2. explaining the chemical abundance pattern of galaxies and metal-poor stars,
3. tracing the progenitors of observed supernovae and supernova remnants,
4. improving understanding in stellar evolution theory and
5. improving supernova modeling techniques.
