I am a researcher and designer currently based at the University of Tokyo, where I serve as Co-Director of the DLX Design Lab. My work bridges science, engineering, and design, with a focus on creating tools, systems, and experiences that foster meaningful human–technology interactions. I am currently involved in the design and integration of the Intermediate Water Cherenkov Detector (IWCD) for the Hyper-Kamiokande neutrino physics project, as well as ongoing research into human–AI collaboration run by the Center for Data Driven Discovery (CD3).
Prior to joining academia, I spent over a decade in R&D and strategy roles across tech startups in mobility, consumer electronics, and music technology. These experiences continue to inform my research, particularly in the development of design methodologies that can translate complex scientific and technological systems into accessible, actionable frameworks for diverse stakeholders. I am passionate about enabling collaboration across disciplines and institutions, and about exploring how design can serve as a catalyst for systemic change and shared innovation.
