I have been making large telescope optics for the telescopes located where the light from the stars cast one's shadow on the ground. Still interested in their performance to cover the wide-band wavelengths available from the good astronomical sites on Earth. Perhaps the performance requirement of such optics can expand to the space-borne systems as well. My primary interest in the science side is in the formation process of stars, and planets around them. Also keen on the preservation of the good astronomical sites in the context of the cultural and historical significance for the indigenous, local people. Exploration and understanding of the world around us is possible when all of us work together - engineers, technicians, researchers; people with different backgrounds and traits and abilities; people from different parts of this planet (and hopefully from other bodies such as the Moon or the Mars in the future).
