I’m investigating theoretical aspects of particle physics to explore the mysteries of the universe and the fundamental laws of nature.

The Standard Model provides an exceptionally successful framework for describing fundamental particles and forces, and it is very compatible with the observations of modern cosmology. However, overwhelming evidence, such as “dark matter” and “non-zero neutrino masses”, suggests that it is incomplete and that new theories are required. Exploration of new fundamental theories is unavoidable to understand nature at a deeper level, and it aligns with the mission of Kavli IPMU.

My approach to this mission is that, while I’m a theorist, I try to search for hints of new physics through a wide range of cutting-edge experiments, from precision measurements, cosmological observations, and high-energy colliders including the LHC. For the Belle II experiment led by Japan, I work on developing novel methods for discovering new particles as well as improving theoretical calculations to extract potential signals of new phenomena. Recently, I’m interested in applying AI/Machine Learning and condensed matter physics to particle physics research.

Personally, I was among the first generation of graduate students at Kavli IPMU. After graduation, I conducted research at institutes in Japan, Israel, and the US. I hope that some of my experience can contribute to the institute, and I’m looking forward to fresh experiences, like a graduate student again!
